Which resume format is right for you?
There are three main resume formats: chronological (most recent experience first), functional (skills-first), and combination (skills + chronological history).
For India, the answer is almost always chronological. Indian recruiters — especially at TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and most MNCs — expect a standard chronological format. Functional resumes raise red flags because they appear to hide employment gaps.
The only exception is career changers, who may benefit from a combination format that leads with transferable skills before the chronological work history.
Regardless of format type, all Rezup templates are single-column — the only layout that passes ATS parsing reliably. Multi-column templates get scrambled text when ATS software reads them.
